Traxxas X-Maxx 8S - The ultimate RC Car

The X-Maxx is one of the best RC cars ever made according to many reviewers. That's quite a statement, but with extreme 8S power, an advanced 4X4 system, its mammoth size and numerous award-winning innovations, the X-Maxx can back up the claim to be the ultimate RC monster truck.

The X-Maxx plows over obstacles and extreme terrain thanks to its huge wheels, long-arm suspension, and huge ground clearance and with the speed-tuned 1200XL Big Block motor and VXL 8S ESC the car rips like no other RC monster truck. But power is nothing without control, so the wheels and tires of the X-MAX are massive and so is the grip from the aggressive all-terrain tread. Traxxas engineered a new tire compound and mounting system to cope with the speed, without the worry of ripping a tire off the bead. To keep them on the ground, four enormous oil-filled GTX aluminum shocks smooth out the roughest terrain for a super-plush ride and the car is designed to maximize suspension travel, steering angles, and overall durability to ensure a faultless experience.

Power without compromising on durability

The X-Maxx puts the power to the ground through tough steel drivetrain gears, the revolutionary Cush Drive system, and the strongest driveshafts ever fitted on a Traxxas. The new Torque-Biasing Center Drive absorbs impacts to improve driveline durability and distributes power to all four wheels without the side effects of a typical center differential, which allow tires in the air to balloon uncontrollably. The differential outputs are splined for extra strength, and they center bolt to the differential for easy cleaning and service.

As a conventional slipper clutch couldn't withstand the torque of the 8s, the revolutionary Cush Drive system from the 100mph XO-1 Supercar was adapted and strengthened further with a steel spur gear. Instead of slipping, it sends power directly to the Torque-Biasing Center Drive for full acceleration. The differentials are sealed and filled with heavy oil, which gives the feel of limited-slip differentials, providing the the driver with confidence to power slide through turns with total control.

The interlocking modular chassis design keeps the motor and the gear drive as a unit to virtually eliminate chassis flex. Similarly the new motor mount design cradles the motor so it can’t flex, helping to eliminate flex even in the most punishing conditions. Lastly, the car comes equipped with new energy-absorbing impact cushions behind the front and rear bumpers to help soften the blows and make the X-Maxx even more durable when chrashing. The new dual-fan assembly helps cool the motor for extended run times and maximum fun.

Delivered fully assembled - Just add batteries

The Traxxas X-Maxx 8S is delivered fully assembled with a Traxxas TQi 2.4 GHz radio system, painted and decaled body, pre-glued tires, and detailed instructions. Traxxas backs the X-Maxx and all other products with top-notch support that is second to none. Unmatched parts support allows the car to be easily serviced with parts and your Traxxas RC car is also protected by the Traxxas Lifetime Electronics Warranty.

All you need to get going is a Traxxas EZ-Peak Live charger and your Traxxas 3S-4S LiPo batteries of choice. We recommend the EZ-Peak range of fast chargers and batteries with a capacity of minimum 6000mAh for longer drive times between re-charging.
