Tamiya Formula E Gen 2 RC Car
The popularity of Formula E has exploded since its debut 2014 and especially since the introduction of the 2nd generation car in 2018. The new cars was not only faster but had significantly longer range, meaning the drivers could drive the full race distance, without switching to a second, fully charged car halfway. The new Gen 2 car provided an significant boost to the series' popularity and attract several car manufacturers into the race series.
Tamiyas legend of this future classic, is a replica of the Formula E Championship car, with exact details and sponsorship decals. While the body itself is molded in polycarbonate, distinctive details like spoilers, halo, diffusers and more are separately molded to create a highly detailed replica look.
Tamiya TC-01: A racing chassis
The Tamiya Formula E car is based on the 4-wheel drive TC-01 chassis, combining a monocoque and separate upper frame to create an extremely rigid construction with a very low profile. The car utilizes genuine race car technology such as composite materials and inboard push-rod suspension. Combined with adjustable spacers for camber, toe and caster angles, the car offers a virtually unlimited setup possibilities for adjusting the suspension and personalising the cars driving characteristics to each driving style and track.
Dampers are oil-filled CVA's with oil-filled differentials front and rear, both can be easily adjusted with oils in different thickness.
