Tamiya Quattro Rallye A2 - The defining rally car in 1/10
The term game-changer is thrown around casually nowadays, but with the Audi Quattro Rallye (also known as the Ur-Quattro), there really is no other way to accurately describe the car. Rally cars until then had all been rear-wheel drive, with 4WD being deemed much to heavy to be relevant, but 1980 Audi launched the Quattro, the first rally car ever with 4WD, and from then on, the days or rear wheel drive cars in WRC were numbered. The Quattro quite literally changed the game for rallying, with all succesfull rally cars launched after that being 4WD. Tamiya version of the car carries the colours of the 1983 factory rally car, driven by Hannu Mikkola and co-driver Arne Hertz to win the World Rally Championship that year.
The perfect blend of fun and fast
The little 1/10 RC car honours the original car with an incredible attention to detail on the polycarbonate body, with mirrors, rear wing and light cases molded separately, along with highly detailed stickers and metal plated parts where suitable. Based on the popular Tamiya TT-02 platform, the car has shaft-driven four wheel drive, with 4-bevel differentials front and rear. Combined with the double-wishbone suspension and road rally tires, the car offers massive grip and agile handling.
The TT-02 chassis is incredibly well balanced with the motor mounted in the rear, and electronics and battery mounted centrally. The car is a great fit for both beginners and novices alike, as the car is both easy and fun to drive with predictable handling and tons of grip and speed. With a wide range of suspension setup adjustments on the car, along with various gearbox ratios and wheelbase settings to choose between, there's hours of fun in making tweaks to the setup, to get driving characteristics and speed just right for how you like it.
Should you ever require more, the TT-02 chassis offers an almost unlimited range of tuning and customization parts, so you'll never get tired of pushing the Audi V8 to it's limits.
Note: The car is delivered without an ESC. We recommend a Hobbywing QuicRun 1060.
